As a member of the Global Technology Organization, the IT Project Manager will lead, deliver and be accountable for the successful completion of complex, multi-disciplinary technology projects and initiatives within and across a business unit and product portfolio. Technology products are cross functional and require collaboration across all the major functional elements related to solution delivery, launch and release.
This position will manage the end-to-end solution lifecycle from requirements, release and into steady state which includes leading, managing overall schedules, securing necessary resources, risk management planning, product and schedule interdependencies and clearly communicating them to key stakeholders at all levels. Project Managers align the strategic objectives between the corporate and business level and the Global Technology Organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Creating and promoting a collaborative environment within Iron Mountain, where knowledge and skills are shared to facilitate efficient and timely delivery of services to Stakeholder
Manage project resources and tasks across a myriad of areas typically including IT applications/platforms, infrastructure (e.g. networking, storage, cloud, etc), and information security
Create, Maintain and Implement Program/Project Communication plans:
Develop, maintain and manage an up-to-date view into the activities of the project to include, but not limited to: open/closed items, Assumptions, Dependencies, etc…
Speak for the program (one voice): Reporting on status of Time, Budget, Scope w/reference to ‘Plan v FCST’.
Manage Risk: Identification, Prioritization, and Mitigation planning & assignment of ownership of risks determined by the team. This will be review periodically throughout the project lifecycle.
Lead Program/Project Change: Documentation of communication, leadership awareness/approval of material changes to schedule, cost, scope, resources, etc…
Create project plans, determine project teams, gather necessary resources and implement projects. Manage projects, report on progress and ensure successful conclusions.
Drives and improves product/solution development lifecycle process definition
Ensures dependency and deliverable tracking across products/solutions/functions
Assist/define/establish/achieve all financial and other objectives for the program/project.
Coordinate with marketing, engineering, research and development, sales, finance and others to manage projects and ensure overall product success.
Work as a leader to train and mentor team
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree preferred; Master’s degree is a plus.
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred, but not required.
Desired certifications: CSM, ACP, 6-SIGMA, PgMP, ITIL, SAFE / Scrum Master
Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in program/project management methodologies such as: PMBOK, PRINCE2, SCRUM, Hybrid Waterfall, Waterfall, Six Sigma, ITIL, LEAN, Kanban
Relevant industry experience and Program/Project Management experience such as IT Hardware/Software or technology background required
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge of program management, able to identify business impact of proposed programs and designs.
Pro-actively contributes to the development of new theories and methods.
Full understanding of overall business and competitive environment, including mission and strategic direction of the organization. Detailed understanding of Iron Mountain product offerings.
Ability to dialogue with engineering at a reasonable level of technical depth.
Ability to lead people, projects, and operations.
Well versed in modern applications and infrastructure technologies
Fosters teamwork and collaboration across work groups and with other organizations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, able to mentor other program managers and provide technical guidance.
Negotiation, influence and presentation skills.
Demonstrates global awareness and recognizes the global impact of decisions, ability to adjust strategy as necessary.
