Reporting to the VP - Technology Product Owner Lead, the Director - Enterprise Data Platform is a key thought leader in the digital transformation journey of Iron Mountain. We are seeking a leader to drive the vision and strategy for Iron Mountain’s enterprise data platform and transform Iron Mountain to be a data driven company. This leader will partner with a core team to engage with stakeholders across the company, build strategic roadmaps, focus the delivery organization and enable value for the business through data driven decisions.
The Enterprise Data Platform is a key strategic investment for Iron Mountain. The goal is to enable the cloud based platform to be the exchange of data across all systems in the company while governing the data and it’s integrity through data stewards. The platform is expected to unlock value by providing advanced analytics as well as ability to integrate across multiple data streams.
This person will ensure the definition and priority of strategic business objectives and develop long term technology roadmaps that provide business value quarter over quarter. Working with stakeholders across the company, this leader will manage a focused intake process for demand on the platform balancing business capabilities and technical advancement. The product manager will also prioritize capabilities with input from stakeholders focused on business value to build out the platform roadmap
Candidate will be responsible for leading a team of product owners that enable the delivery of capabilities in an agile environment. They will also be expected to be a key thought leader that understands market trends and capabilities to spur ongoing improvement on the platform. Candidate will possess the necessary balance of strategic vision coupled with hands-on leadership when needed. Candidate should be an outstanding communicator capable of describing the business impact and cost justification of initiatives as well as the transformational potential of emerging technologies. Must possess executive presence, communication, and senior-level influencing skills.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall Enterprise Data Platform roadmap.
Manages effective stakeholder engagement across all levels. This includes the ultimate users of the platform, benefactors, executives and champions.
Defines, aligns and evolves the platform strategy and vision.
Manages the demand process from small to strategic asks. Facilitates prioritization across stakeholder groups.
A talent multiplier who enables the product owners to drive focus and increase velocity
Understands and communicates the value being delivered by the platform. Maintains and communicates overall TCO of the platform.
Ensures features are defined and groomed to enable delivery of platform capabilities
Encourages creativity and challenge traditional thinking to solve business problems
Focuses on ensuring the platform is able to scale and deliver global standard capabilities
Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department
Required Skills:
Expert level understanding of working in big data environments, analytics.
Ability to understand business problems and bridge with technology capabilities
Ability to look across the technology landscape and understand the structure and relationships other applications have to enable an effective data interchange and data ingestion
Experience with Agile teams and delivery. Experience as a product owner across multiple scrum teams or product owner at a scrum of scrums level.
Strong, proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze the most expedient method to recover business operations
Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement
Exceptional customer service skills, in addition to extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Must be able to communicate effectively with users, executives and senior leaders at all levels
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams with competing priorities.
Preferred Skills
Ability to work in a fast paced, high tech environment juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in high pressure situations and manage distributed teams with competing priorities with tight deadlines
Agile Product Owner Certification
BS/BA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Data Science or related field or equivalent experience
