Responsibilities

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Tools and Automation , the Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for identifying and creating workflows and automation using the existing Toolsets within Iron Mountain to deliver efficiencies in operations. They will have an in depth understanding in workflow and process creation and work closely with other members of IT and the business to capture requirements into automated workflows.The Engineer provides Consultancy, Design, Development, Integration, Support Services at a high technical level, and is responsible for the provision of technology & IT advice and services to both internal and external clients.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify opportunities for automation within software processes.

  • Design and execute QA tests using scripts that automatically test functionality

  • Makes recommendations regarding operational improvements and automation

  • Collaborate with other business units to understand how automation can improve workflow.

  • Install and manage applications and databases relevant to automation.

  • Work in concert with software and hardware vendors for problem resolution

  • Gather requirements from clients, customers or end-users to develop the best automation solutions.

  • Automating repetitive IT maintenance tasks through Process Automation

  • Integration between different infrastructure services and tools through APIs

  • Builds and tests multi-platform automation, orchestration and workflows based on requirements from various IT partners within the specified catalog of approved automation solutions. Collaborates with 3rd level engineering partners and Operations staff to ensure the appropriate delivery criteria and process capability are met. Contributes to the creation of and maintains departmental standards. Leverages version control to ensure consistency within each environment.

  • Stay at the forefront of innovation by maintaining current knowledge of products, services, and market dynamics

  • Assist in the production of regular and accurate management reports related to deliverable status, optimal resource utilization, and progress of improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Functional Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

  • 8+ years’ experience working with scripting and automation in a globally dispersed organization

  • Automation, scripting and workflow

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning

  • Programming and coding experience

  • Project management

  • Agile, cloud and DevOps experience

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Communication and documentation skills

  • Experience in computer science or engineering

  • Creating and maintaining documentation and diagrams to a high standard as needed when assets are added or removed – Visio.

  • Good knowledge of IT Service Management

  • Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels

  • The ability to work in a matrix environment

  • Familiarity and/or experience working with 3 rd party partners/vendors

  • Proven Experience / Knowledge in automation through scripting (e.g Bash, SSH, Batch File, Big Fix Action Scripting, PowerShell, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).

  • Experience using IBM Big Fix Action Scripting
