Responsibilities

Reporting to the SVP - IT Infrastructure & Operations, this position will be a key information technology (IT) executive leading the infrastructure technology platforms for Iron Mountain. They will be responsible for the design, build and performance functions for all computing platforms and data storage infrastructure, including servers, storage, networks, voice and databases. It will be this executive’s responsibility to develop and execute an IT strategy that strategically balances the IT hosting platforms on premise & in the cloud based over the next 5 years. In addition, this executive will be responsible for the day-to-day engineering of all on-premise computing platforms. They will oversee the development of strategies and standards for platform infrastructure, enterprise storage management and platform operations automation, while ensuring that service levels adhere to ITIL principles. In addition, they will manage all design, build and run activities related to IT Infrastructure for Iron Mountain.

Candidates will possess the necessary balance of strategic vision coupled with hands-on leadership when needed. The VP Infrastructure must have the ability to design systems, processes and procedures that scale to meet the needs, challenges and opportunities of the organization. Moreover, they will need to build relationships across all layers of the organization.

They will be an outstanding communicator, capable of describing the business impact and cost justification of initiatives as well as the transformational potential of emerging technologies. They must possess executive presence, communication and senior-level influencing skills.

Qualifications

  • Develops the strategy to support the IT infrastructure vision and provides input into the formulation of the overall IT strategy.

  • Develops and implements long-term strategy for all computing platforms and storage technology, supporting business objectives and goals.

  • Responsible for the architecture, design, standardization, availability, and the support of all infrastructure

  • Management of third party service providers in the delivery of projects and infrastructure managed services

  • Development, implementation of ITIL based processes that support technology operations including change management, incident management, problem management etc.

  • Manage the day to day activities of the infrastructure services team

  • Work closely with IT security and program management teams in the delivery of IT services

  • Manages budget for department/projects, including forecasting needs, tracking costs, investigating variances, making corrections, etc.

  • Works closely with the IT Leadership team to influence improvements to IT application and system performance.

  • Develops and maintains productive relationships with business departments across the enterprise; manages system performance and availability to agreed standards.

  • Actively drives the strategic partnership with key vendor and partner relationships.

  • Has responsibility for hiring, training, motivating, and retaining top employees resulting in the development and maintenance of a high-performance team.

  • Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department.

  • Strong knowledge of voice and network technologies and architectures including Cisco route/switch, SIP, firewalls, internet proxies, load balancers, and wide area networking

  • Expert knowledge in MS windows and infrastructure engineering with emphasis in server, virtualization, hyper-converge, storage and Microsoft AD services.

  • Excellent skills in managing/developing departmental budgets & ability to identify areas for cost savings

  • Strong, proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze the most expedient method to recover business operations

  • Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement

  • Experience in leading the data protection, disaster recovery and business continuity operations

  • Exceptional customer service skills, in addition to extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively with users, executives and senior leaders at all levels

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

  • Strong communication, influencing and presentation skills.

  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams with competing priorities.

· High level working knowledge of multiple complex software and hardware platforms including network architectures.

· Ability to work in a fast paced, high tech environment juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

· Previous knowledge of best in class Customer Service & Support teams

· Ability to maintain positive attitude in high pressure situations and manage distributed teams with competing priorities with tight deadlines

· Acting as the IT escalation point of contact for Executives - ensure customers are highly satisfied with the service provided and that we are providing continuous improvement.

· ITIL and other IT Professional Certifications.

BS/BA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Security or related field or equivalent experience
