Iron Mountain Systems Engineer, L2 Support in Brampton, Ontario

The Systems Engineer, Level 2 Support will be responsible for providing remote support at our Canadian imaging centers that handles special customer projects. This role requires an experienced IT professional with a proven record of accomplishment to support this fast-paced and high volume environment. Reporting to the Project Coordinator for Global DS Service Operations, this individual will be the on-site lead for the Service Operations team. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and support including scanning, imaging and managing file transfer.

  • Position is remote but also ability to go into local facility when needed if dynamic changes

  • The range of activities and tasks to be undertaken by the System Engineer, Global DS Service Operations (NA) include:

  • Daily maintenance activities to ensure all IT operations run smoothly.

  • Daily support for the local imaging center and for the central Kofax environment.

  • Manage and maintain the VMWare environment. Ensure security patches are applied check for stability.

  • Responsible for proper daily escalation of issues and off-hour on-call support.

  • Work to improve existing standard processes and develop comprehensive controls to monitor productivity, quality, and SLA adherence based on industry proven best practices.

  • Responsible for successful on-boarding of new DS customers and change requests for existing DS customers

  • Ensure constant systems/solution availability to meet project SLA’s

Core competencies/requirements:

  • Deep understanding of the various IT functions

  • Proficient in Windows server and SQL

  • Relationship Management to navigate both the business and IT

  • Effective written/verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to plan strategically

  • Willingness to work with numerous deadlines on a wide variety of initiatives in an environment where priorities may change quickly

  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, VMWare,etc are preferred .

  • Working knowledge of scripting languages such as .net, VB etc

  • Experience in Kofax or any imaging platform is desirable.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year college or university or 5+ years of IT industry work experienc

  • You must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full time permanent basis and may be subject to a customer background clearance investigation

  • ITIL v3 foundation and practitioner certification
