The Director, Network Capacity Management serves as the lead for planning and procuring network infrastructure required to support the Iron Mountain Data Center’s suite of network services to internal and external customers globally. The position has ownership responsible for creating and managing Operational Expense budget, and developing a global interconnection strategy.
Manage global telecommunications circuit inventory
Manage relationships with telecommunications carriers and providers globally.
Develop budget priorities, execute to plan, and provide reporting to the Data Center Leadership Team
Develop cost allocation model to support product level, and business line P&L reporting
Identify opportunities to reduce cost, and expand capacity in line with customer needs
Develop capacity forecasting model
Develop program to track and manage circuit renewals
Work with the Network Operations team to coordinate circuit delivery and migrations as needed
Makes recommendations regarding operational improvements
Participates in Network Services team to determine technology and organizational direction and priorities
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Comfortable managing competing and dynamic priorities
5+ years in a technology leadership role
10+ years network engineering background
5+ years Network/Telecom team management in a globally dispersed organization.
Recent experience and strong knowledge of SD-WAN/LAN technologies
Good Knowledge of Private / Public Cloud connectivity and associated network security.
Robust knowledge of IT Service Management and Project Management
Excellent written, presentation and oral communication skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate and influence at all levels
Previous knowledge of best in class Customer Service & Support teams
Ability to maintain positive attitude in high pressure situations and manage distributed teams with competing priorities with tight deadlines
