Responsibilities

Iron Mountain Data Centers is looking to hire a high-performing Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in either Phoenix, AZ or Manassas, VA. This individual will oversee the successful planning and execution of high priority projects and initiatives. The Senior Project Manager ensures the successful planning and execution of highly visible, transformational Data Center, Network, and IT-related projects. This role requires strong project management, communications, customer relationship, and analytical skills along with a working knowledge of data center operations and IT/Network operations.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following activities:

  • Lead cross-functional, globally distributed teams in the successful execution of key projects, with an emphasis on data center, IT, and network technology implementation, system and process standardization, and data center infrastructure and support.

  • Meets project outcomes, including commitments around performance, schedule, cost, and resources.

  • Provide steady leadership in the face of uncertainty, change, and aggressive deadlines common to a growing company with an evolving business model.

  • Is the focal point for change management, issue management, and escalation resolutions.

  • Manage all aspects of given initiatives, from requirements gathering to implementation over the entire lifecycle of the projects.

  • Ensure that the scope of the projects align with business priorities. Manage relationship with key stakeholders and sponsor, and escalate project risks to sponsors on a timely basis for decision resolution and disposition.

  • Produces all relevant project management deliverables such as objectives and requirements, risk assessments, project plans, budgets, status reports, open issues logs, change logs, action items list etc.

  • Support project and program managers within and outside the program.

  • Utilizes company and industry program and project management best practices and adheres to the process, standards, and governance.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience running data center infrastructure and/or information technology and networking programs and projects; Familiarity with the design and support of data centers and mission critical facilities

  • Proven ability to build and lead integrated teams (business and technology) from various internal and external organizations across multiple sites

  • Adept at helping team members harness and develop strengths in pursuit of successful project outcomes

  • Ability to achieve broadly communicated objectives with a minimal amount of supervision

  • Ability to make decisions independently and to assume higher-level leadership responsibilities in critical situations

  • Proven problem-solving, decision-making, and financial skills

  • Effective consultative and influencing approach

  • Proven ability to enact change quickly

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels, including with globally disbursed teams

  • PMP and Scrum Master certifications desired; Strong project management/process background required; 8+ years of experience with a wide variety of methodologies (i.e., Waterfall and Agile) and proficiency in common project planning tools such as MS Project

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree desirable

  • Travel may be required and is dependent on program needs
