JOB PROFILE

The ServiceNow CMDB Specialist (Configuration Management Database) is part of the Service Management team that designs, plans, implements, executes and supports processes, procedures and ServiceNow globally for Iron Mountain Data Centers (IMDC). This role requires engagement with key stakeholders to develop solutions that satisfy the business needs of the CMDB and working directly with end users/customers to resolve support issues within ServiceNow. The CMDB Specialist configures and customizes the ServiceNow CMDB and associated functionality including UI/forms, relationship, data validation/certification and reporting needs and is responsible for the data integrity and CI mapping relationships within the ServiceNow CMDB.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Has experience with data center infrastructure and understanding of critical data center services and operations in order to create relationships between CIs, identify standards, etc.

  • Works well as an individual contributor within a small team

  • Willingly learns new skills and is able to efficiently research solutions and information across various tools/platforms

  • Has experience in Service Delivery, Critical Facilities, NOC, data center engineer/technician roles

Note: This is not an IT-focused role. Training will be provided on SNOW/IT.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on the ServiceNow CMDB

  • Promote ServiceNow and CMDB best practices and recommend out of the box solutions where appropriate.

  • Maintain CI Class, Attribute configuration and CI relationship

  • Maintain Data Certifications and CMDB Health Dashboard

  • Build transform maps to import external data sources and maintain integrations

  • Responsible for providing services, asset tracking, administration, and managementto support a highly reliable CMDB

  • Setup and Maintain business service and service offering mapping structure

  • Building and maintaining an updated knowledge base, scheduled and ad-hoc reporting, dashboard visibility supporting CMDB upkeep

SKILLS, CRITERIA, & COMPETENCIES

  • Bachelor degree with at least 4-7 (four to seven) years’ experience in a service management, software administration, system engineering or process-development role preferred

  • At least 1-2 years of Comprehensive experience with ServiceNow platform

  • Operational execution at an extremely high level of performance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and with external customers required

  • Excellent documentation abilities

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strength in process analysis, refinement, and development required.

  • Ability to collaborate and build consensus across departments and among stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

  • Willingness to learn and demonstrated drive to reach goals

  • Recent experience with ServiceNow platform or like platform

  • Ability to approach your work with a can-do mentality, you do not accept the status-quo, you aim to keep evolving it while asking why we do something and not just executing
