Iron Mountain Data Centers is looking to hire a Senior Project Manager to join our growing team in Phoenix, AZ. The Senior Project Manager – Data Centers is responsible for the delivery of all construction projects for the IMDC (Iron Mountain Data Center) Business. The incumbent will lead a team of external project managers, design firms, construction managers, and contractors. The incumbent will be directly responsible for the development of and adherence to annual capital budgets and aggressive timelines. The budgets will be developed in cooperation with IMDC business clients, Real Estate, and finance.
Managing multiple large complex critical infrastructure construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of complex electrical and mechanical systems including UPS systems, stand-by power, thermodynamics, air psychometrics, and energy conservation.
Developing and managing detailed budgets and schedules.
Knowledge of NFPA standards and building codes.
Ability to cost estimate complex projects and identifies way to drive down costs.
Managing and supervising multiple design partners, contractors, and trades.
Experience with commissioning and integrated testing of complex systems.
Developing and reviewing Methods of Procedures (MOPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all critical project work activities in existing data center facilities.
Conducting design and construction meetings with external professional, internal Iron Mountain employees, and external Iron Mountain customers.
Managing bid processes, approving change orders, and processing payments.
Auditing installed data center components. This audit will be used to verify the completion of the job scope by the vendor in addition to verifying the design documentation for the build-out and ongoing operations of the data centers.
Ensuring a safe work environment at all times.
Ensuring constant product delivery in support of the mission goal of 99.999% uptime
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Demonstrated proficiency in project management and real estate budgeting/accounting
The candidate should have a minimum of 10 years in the delivery of mission critical construction projects of increasing responsibility and client facing positions in a corporate real estate setting.
Experience with contract and vendor management.
Demonstrated excellence in customer service skills
Excellent analytical skills
Working knowledge of CAD (Computer Assisted Design)
Preference for operating with substantial independence and strongly self- motivated
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to interface effectively with clients, peers across Iron Mountain and Iron Mountain senior management
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

Willingness to travel approximately 25% - 50% of the time.
The position will impact the delivery of our Iron Mountain Data Center business primary product. This will represent a capital spend of approximately $200M annually. If the Project and team does not deliver its projects appropriately, loss of property or life, loss of revenue, damage to clients’ property and the inability to accommodate new clients are all potential downsides.
Bachelor degree in engineering, facilities management, architecture, business/finance or equivalent is required. Advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred. Professional licenses (P.E., AIA) or certifications in related fields are desirable (PMP, etc.)
