Reporting to the VP - IT Enterprise Architect, the Human Capital Management (HCM) Principal Architect will be a key Information Technology change agent in the digital transformation journey of Iron Mountain.
We are seeking a hands-on technologist to drive platform strategy & data integration efforts establishing/extending a strategic, global HCM platform serving the needs of our global Human Resources COE, including our globally distributed employees and contractors. This role will partner with IT, business and strategic vendor partners to ensure delivery of strategic business objectives and develop long term technology roadmaps that continue to deliver and expand ongoing business value in the HCM technology arena, including components like payroll, labor tracking, learning management, and travel & expense. Candidate will possess the necessary balance of strategic vision and tactical execution to fuel and execute the transformation within the HCM business area.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall architecture and design of Iron Mountain’s HCM ecosystem, with an emphasis on Workday
Curate and maintain vendor relationships
Provides oversight and governance of technology standards and frameworks for HCM initiatives
Works closely with the IT Leadership team to influence improvements to systems and processes
Works closely with other technology peers to establish/maintain architectural best practices/standards and appropriate technical governance to accelerate development/operations of state-of-the-art solutions
Develops and maintains productive relationships with business stakeholders and partners across the enterprise
Promotes/provides creativity and challenges traditional thinking to architect for innovation and value; serves as a change agent to accelerate the use of technology to fuel business growth
Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking, participation in professional associations, etc. in order to lead strategic business direction of the department
Directs hands-on architecture design participation on large, complex projects
Accountable for creation and management of multi‐year roadmaps for HCM platforms
Required Skills:
10+ years of relevant IT experience with Workday
10+ years in the human capital management domain
Ability to lead technical design sessions; architect technical solutions aligned with business objectives; identify gaps
Ability to look across the IT landscape and understand the structure and relationships other applications have with HCM solutions to ensure tight integration and data integrity
Experience architecting solutions with Agile teams across a broad suite of technologies both within and outside the HCM arena
Strong knowledge of cloud technologies and cloud economics including AWS, Azure, GCP
Strong, proven problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze the most expedient method to recover business operations
Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement
Must possess executive presence, communication, and senior-level influencing skills, as well as an ability to tactically execute and interact with peers, customers and vendor partners in a collaborative manner.
Exceptional customer service skills, in addition to extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks
Strong communication, influencing, and presentation skills
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
Preferred Skills:
High-level working knowledge of multiple complex software and hardware platforms including network architectures
Ability to work in a fast- paced, high-tech environment juggling multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in high pressure situations and manage distributed teams with competing priorities with tight deadlines
ITIL and other IT Professional Certifications
Education:
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Information Security or related field or equivalent experience
