Critical Facilities Senior HV Shift Technician, Data Center
The Critical Facilities Senior HV Technician provides technical and facility support in a 24x7 data centre environment, including maintenance and oversight of electrical, HVAC, and building management systems. This is a customer-facing environment and you will be responsible for ensuring Iron Mountain Data Centers delivers its contractual obligations on time whilst leading a small team and maintaining all electrical, mechanical and critical site-based equipment. The successful candidate will be required to work on site on a days and night shift pattern, 12 hour shifts and will be part of a 2 man shift team that reports directly into the Critical Facilities Manager

Ensure that routine maintenance is carried out to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations, and agreed service level agreements.
Respond to Building Management System alarms, and effect emergency repairs as needed.
Support requirements as High Voltage and Low Voltage Authorized person providing switching schedules, planned and reactive support to all electrical systems.
Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
Provide single point of contact for your shift and make informed decisions regarding remedial activities and escalation procedures.
Ensure that Critical cooling water systems and any domestic systems are maintained to comply with the requirements of the L8 standard.
Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the critical and non-critical plant.
Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of task sheets – hard copy or electronically as required.
Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and adhered to for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments, and site operating processes.
To develop a good working relationship with all members staff.
Ensure the provision of a safe & healthy working environment, and ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, as well as client site policies, procedures and working arrangements, as required.
Ensure a professional image of Iron Mountain Data Centers is presented to customers and visitors and ensure excellence in customer service is always delivered and promoted.
Provide shift cover for opposite shift members during periods of absence.
Attend and support annual building shutdowns (IST) when required.
Ensure the engineering team on site produce required near miss reports, dynamic risk assessments and detailed records of site activities, and ensuring any non-compliance is challenged and escalated where necessary.
Compile Shift Report / Log at the end of each shift
Any other task as directed by the Critical Facilities management team.
Key Skills, Requirements and Competencies:
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in M&E Environments
2+ years’ experience in leading a shift team
Electrical/Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or similar
C&G Pts. 1 & 2, equivalent or exceeds.
18th Edition IEE: Wiring and Installation (Ability to attain 18th Edition through additional training if you have 17th Edition)
Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff.
Proactive in achieving the highest standard of operation.
Ability to work under pressure whilst remaining calm, clear thinking and able to deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints
Multi-tasking - we use several different systems to manage ticket queues and work tasks can change throughout the day
Attention to detail - ability to understand and follow a documented process and Iron Mountain’s safety code, role is very process driven
Organization & prioritization - following processes and managing your time with minimal supervision to get work done efficiently and on time
